FROM BLITZ’s PEN

Mrs. Lientjie Blok and her art learners are adding some colour to our passages and walls. They’ve repainted, and redrawn the blackboard leading up to the 3rd floor of the school with subject related artwork, and it looks amazing.

Secondly, they’ve tackled the wall outside by the assembly block. From what we can tell, we’re in for a very colourful surprise. There is already a lot of excited chatter on the playgrounds about the ‘cool pictures’ being painted outside.

BLITZ BABBLE
On June 18 the first issue of the Blitz Babble will be released. The newspaper is written by the learners, for the learners. This newspaper includes all the juicy information that the learners think important enough to write about.

As this is a first issue, all the learners that order and buy a copy from their register teachers will be allowed to wear Civvies on the 18th of June. The newspaper costs R10 per issue and is payable to the register teacher. All newspapers must be ordered by the 17th. No extra booklets will be sold on the 18th.

ART
If you have any containers with a lid that you would like to give to the art class, we ask you to please give it to Ester at the office. Mrs Lientjie Blok would like to use it for paint.

REPORT DAY
There will be a report day for the grade 4 – 11 learners this term. The Grade 4 - 7 learner report day will be on 23rd of June from 14:30 – 17:00.

The grade 8 – 11 learner report day will be from 14:30 – 17:00 on the 24th of June.

EXAMS
The end of the exams are near! We believe in each and everyone of our learners. Finish the examinations strongly.

Please note that the school closes at 13:00 during the exams.

HOMEWORK CENTER
GRADES 4-6
Supervisor: Sarita Rossler (Tel nr. 082 923 7188). The supervisor offers help, but is more focused on Gr 4 and the children who need extra support. The supervisor accepts no responsibility for undone homework if there are no homework books to sign off on.

The Homework Center provides an opportunity for the learners to do homework and accepts no responsibility for undone homework.

If a learner disrupts the homework center and withholds the opportunity from learners who do want to do their work, such a learner will receive a written warning. The warning must be signed by the parent and an appointment will also be arranged with the parent.

GENERAL

THREE MONTHS NOTICE PERIOD
All parents need to provide 3 months’ notice if learners are to leave the school. I have an open door and ask that parents please arrange a meeting before any formal notice is given.
